Mr. Shucard began his law enforcement career in 1983 with the Lakewood, Colorado Police Department. As an “agent” with LPD, Mr. Shucard held a number of special assignments including; K-9 Team, SWAT Team, and Burglary Investigations Team. During his tenure at LPD, Mr. Shucard’s performance and work product earned him numerous commendations and awards.

In addition to his over 17 years with the Lakewood Police Department, Mr. Shucard has also worked as an investigator with the Arapahoe County District Attorney’s Office, and a Criminal Investigator assigned to the Financial Fraud Unit/Insurance Fraud Team at the Colorado Attorney General’s Office. During his employment with these agencies, Mr. Shucard acquired extensive experience as an investigator in a variety of areas, and earned numerous awards in recognition of his work product.

Mr. Shucard has also worked in the private sector as the “Western Regional Security Manager” for an international vending corporation. Mr. Shucard’s  skills as a private investigator lead to the arrest of numerous individuals in Utah and Colorado for multiple thefts and burglaries from company equipment.

Additionally, Mr. Shucard also assisted in the company obtaining C-TPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) status with U.S. Customs, formulated a preventative audit program for field employees, and worked with Internal Audit on numerous loss prevention and legal issues.

In 2009, Mr. Shucard earned his Master of Applied Science degree in Security Management from the University of Denver. And in 2011, Mr. Shucard left the Attorney General’s Office to pursue a longtime ambition of creating and running his own private investigation and security consulting business- HDS & Associates LLC.

Hal Shucard has over 38 years of combined law enforcement, and private sector security management experience to draw from as he works on behalf of his clients.
